COVID-19: What should I do now?

Reviewing Lift requests for the last week. Every single one from someone whose job or income has disappeared because of coronavirus. Two new government programs you might have heard about: stimulus checks that will be sent to you(learn how much you can expect and eligibility requirements here) and small business loans to help cover payroll that you have to apply for through a bank or other business lenders(learn more here). The Small Business Administration also continues to offer its existing disaster loan assistance program not just to small business but also non-profits, homeowners and renters (get started with a COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan Application.).

These are big programs that have been adopted quickly. They won’t cover everyone and it will take a while to for the money to start flowing. One of our founders listened in a call with a group of bankers who will be participating in the new small business payroll loan program. The bankers have as many question as you do. The government agencies administering the programs don’t have all the answers yet.
